When Ray visited the Taipei Compassionate Field in the winter of 2000, he saw a
lady with a hat on. Instinctively, he knew he must do HHUL for her. He found
out later that she was a last stage cancer patient. So, he made the request
after she finished practice. After the session, she told Ray:" I fell complete
for the first time in my life as I am filled with love". Ray simply knew that
she was healed and that she was free to decide whether to stay or not. She
passed away peacefully two weeks later.
Healing, to our understanding, is the completion or the fulfillment of some
aspects of life. As such, a healed person may not choose to stay if she or he
is totally fulfilled. Greg Erickson is another case in point. Greg joined the
Austin Group when he found out he had lung cancer. However, as his doctor was
confident that his cancer is "treatable", Greg was not a serious Chi-mate. One
year later, his cancer spread all over his body including his brain. He became
serious but was too late as the pain began to take over and soon he was no
longer able to stand up or even sit for long. Austin Chi-mates began to visit
him at home everyday doing HHUL for him. While each session helped him greatly
to calm down and lessen his pain, his pain had increased drastically, and he
had to cover his legs with ice constantly despite the fact that he was taking
Morphine.
Five Chi-mates went to his hospital room when we received the words that he
might not make through the evening. His condition was coma-like although he was
conscious from time to time. His pain level was so high that Doctor had to put
pain medicine directly into his spine. He also constantly seemed to be in
conversations with different "people" around the room and talked in different
languages. He was in an extremely agitated state when we first went into his
room. However, after five hours of continuous HHUL, he calmed down and began to
slept soundly in his mother's arms to the total surprise of his doctors. He
passed away peacefully in his mother arms.
The hospital was gracious in accepting our request to leave Greg in his room
for 8 hours after his death next morning. With Chi-mates doing HHUL for hours,
the energy of his room gradually became a joyous one. His mother, Jackie,
grieved so much seeing her second son passed away, also became joyous as
everyone else. Rita Chung, who had great fear of being alone, was alone with
Greg, as rest of people took off to get some food, to continue the HHUL
session. As she totally surrendered to the loving energy with her eyes closed,
she "saw" Greg, surrounded by light, left and moved higher and higher and
disappeared. She was, during that process of "seeing", filled with a
tremendously strong energy as Greg departed, a gift from Greg as she
instinctively knew.
