Adjust Gently and Naturally
Bowing is an act of gentle and natural adjustment. No matter what condition your spine is in, you can practice bowing. Bowing won’t harm you in anyway, because it is using the Universal Love energy to adjust gently and naturally; also, it will restore your body’s own innate ability for adjustment. It is totally natural and gentle, and will not harm you in anyway. Follow the dharma. Do it gently and slowly and you will have wonderful results.

During the process of bowing, you are both relaxing and stretching every muscle, tendon, bone, nerve and meridian. Everything is occurring in the same process. It is important to follow the sequence and the dharma in bowing. The core of this dharma is to be “gentle and slow.” Being gentle and slow allows both your body and mind to become completely receptive to the adjustments. It allows your body and mind to be open, to be in the most receptive state, to receive the various adjustments for your body and mind.

Bowing is an enjoyment for your whole body, mind and spirit. Because Universal Love Light energy will flow, circulate and saturate your whole being. Follow the sequence, beginning with the top of your head. Start with Bai Huei(Du 20 ) at the top of your head. Slowly curl inwards and downwards. Do not crudely skip over any of the areas. Sometimes you may skip over some area without being aware of it, but the more you practice, the more you will become aware of which areas you have skipped over. Don’t worry if you are skipping over some areas, just do it gently, slowly and patiently, and you will be fine. But if you do it in a hurry, just rushing through the motions, then the rough movements may have some minor adverse effects if your body is out of condition. For instance, you may feel that you have over stretched a tendon, or twisted something, or seized up somewhere. Of Course it is very minor, but you will feel some discomfort. So whenever you feel discomfort, it means that you have not fully grasped the key to bowing. Once you master the key, there will not be any discomfort. So, using this as a guideline, you can evaluate whether you are doing it correctly or not.
